I was a fan. One of the magical things about his life was just how much lyrical talent was packed inside of him. It was just a testament to your environment, where you’re from, where you call home, it doesn’t matter where, if you’re destined for greatness, you will get there. He had so much lyrical talent, it was just like, point and case. He was destined to be this influential [artist]. So many things about dope and amazing MCs like that I’m so in awe of. As a musician, it’s like flipped for me; words, lyrics, I have to sit and stare at a blank page for sometimes a half hour, an hour before it’s like OK, and then I’ll get that line. But the music is constantly flowing… so when it comes time to write a song, it’s like no problem, the bridge goes here, and then it’s the words. Oh s---, the words. Then to watch somebody like Biggie just command the English language in such a profound way, is just mesmerizing to me. He’s a legend.
