Toronto-born Melanie Fiona has dominated American music charts since 2009, when she released her first project, The Bridge. Her big break came years after forming a group called the Renaissance with fellow Canadian Drake. Interestingly enough, the two fledgling superstars didn't realize their full potential until the group disbanded and they embarked on separate solo careers. Her latest single, "Change the Record," from her second LP, The MF Life, is doing even more to put the Guyanese-Canadian on the map, introducing a bold new voice in R&B.
