'CrazySexyCool' won on the strength of its radio hits -- 'Waterfalls,' 'Creep' -- however, it is D'Angelo's less pop-infused 'Brown Sugar' that is synonymous with the best R&B albums of all time. The project was fundamental in pioneering the sub-genre known as neo-soul. A definite close call, but let's say you've got someone special over and the lights are low, chances are tracks like 'Jonz in My Bonz' and 'Lady' will get you laid before 'Creep' does. D'Angelo saw some justice though, when five years later, he finally took home the Grammy award in this category for 'Voodoo.' Amen.
