In general, it was a mediocre year for rap albums here. Up for the Best Rap Album alongside Luda and Tip were Lupe Fiasco for 'Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor,' Pharrell for 'In My Mind' and The Roots for 'Game Theory.' T.I.'s 'King' is the no-brainer here when it comes to which LP should have gone home as the winner. Remember hearing the heavy synths of 'What You Know' blaring everywhere? Tip's fourth album sold more than half a million records in its first week out and made almost every year-end list proving that "King" was a worthy title for the man born Clifford Harris. So when another ATL rapper made his way up to the podium to accept the crown, rap fans were left a little puzzled.
