Back to Lucky Artists
5. Pitbull

Reggaeton had a lot of casualties. Most artists that jumped on the bandwagon between 2004 and 2005 have been relegated to background vocals in cable TV commercials now. It’s an unfortunate reality, but there was one survivor: Pitbull. Somewhere in between the beach and the ballroom, Pitbull found his swagger by travelling the Flo Rida-route and sustaining a
career in hip-pop. Throw in a track with Enrique Iglesias -- 'I Like It' -- and you have one of the greatest career resuscitations in rap history. Perhaps Pitbull lost the respect of all 'El Mariel' fans back home but does it matter? He’s crying all the way to the bank.
