A$AP Rocky had started quite a commotion off the strength of a couple viral videos, 'Pe$o' and 'Purple Swag' among them. Drake happened to see the latter visual and re-posted it on his October's Very Own site. From that moment, the Houston-influenced Harlemite saw a lot more attention a lot faster than he'd ever thought he would. He successfully negotiated a deal for himself and an imprint on RCA for a reported $3 million total -- all before releasing a full debut project. His first mixtape, 'Live. Love. A$AP,' premiered on Halloween, and only increased his buzz, landing him on nearly every year-end mixtape list for 2011.
