Rick Ross has been a superstar for quite some time, through both his mixtapes and his official albums. Within the first few days of 2012, he and the MMG-signed DJ Scream released the 'Rich Forever' mixtape. The focal point of a Ross project has always been his penchant for impeccable beat selection -- 'Stay Schemin',' 'MMG Untouchable' -- and constructing tapes peppered with what seems like strong album material. More interesting was the inclusion of a hip-hop journalist as tape's co-host. The Miami rapper brought XXL magazine's Editor-at-Large Shaheem Reid along for the ride, raising a few eyebrows but also possibly setting a new standard for mixtapes and elevating the level of a quality co-sign from a field professional.
