This, in a nutshell, was Eric B. and Rakim's battle cry. It was a declaration that they were here to change the face of hip-hop. Forget what you knew before, Eric B. is the DJ and Rakim is the MC. A traditional hip-hop formula, only enhanced. While Rakim sounded confident in his mantra on Paid In Full, he probably had no idea of the power he possessed and how 25 years later it would still be honored. Hip-hop still hasn't paid him in full for what he's given us in return.
