Northern State

The frontwoman of the NYC trio Northern State was named Hesta Prynn, and just like her namesake in The Scarlet Letter, she is now a part of history. Think of Northern State as a pre-historic White Girl Mob, with Prynn playing the role of Kreayshawn. For a short time, The Roots’ ?uestlove cosigned these girls. They likened themselves more than once to the Beastie Boys. The difference? The Beasties are legends and Northern State is a group of has-beens who never were.
