Mariah Carey returns to the studio with some familiar faces. The 42-year-old mother of twins Moroccan and Monroe is recording music for her 14th album, bringing along frequent collaborators, producers and songwriters Jermaine Dupri and Bryan-Michael Cox for the journey. Though she delivered a Christmas album in 2010, Merry Christmas II You, the new LP serves as a follow-up to 2009's Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel.

The lauded songstress revealed photos of the studio session via Twitter on Wednesday (April 18). Ever the playful pop star, Mariah grabbed Dupri's fitted cap, emblazoned with his So So Def record label logo, and snapped images of herself wearing it. In another, she's in an upside down position on a couch and for a third, she poses with JD and Cox, who will be presented with the Inspiration Award at the 2012 SESAC Pop Music Awards in May.

The three were also spotted in New York City Wednesday night, along with L.A. Reid and Pharrell Williams, to support newcomer Leah LaBelle. The Seattle-raised singer is making her name around town as Williams and Dupri's new artist. She's set to release her debut LP on I Am Other/So So Def/Epic Records.
