"I can rap over opera music if you gave it to me," London-bred rapper Dizzee Rascal boasted to the BoomBox during a taping of an exclusive 16 Bars freestyle segment in our New York studio. Dizzee waltzed into our New York studio, stepped up to the microphone and delivered pure fire over Lil Wayne's 'Fireman,' no pun intended. A man of few words when confronted by the media, the British rapper -- known for meshing his self-produced basement beats with funky eclectic samples to create the rugged 'Dirtee Stank' sound -- felt right at home in front of the microphone, so much so that he flowed for almost five minutes with no hesitation.

Dis man came from da london underground pirate radio days, he has paid hes dues tenfold, also battling More Fire crew i think it was on random pirate shows, and that was when i was in school! (im 22 now) he been around! he has developed the uk hip hop/grime/urban scene to a bigger audience over here and to make moves with a NY underground label like DEF JUX just shows hes into the bigger picture of hip hop. i got mad respeck for this guy.

If this was a "FreeStyle" Battle between what was placed on the table (Q-Tip, Common and RZA), there was no question that Dizzie blew 'em out the water. I think that Dizzie still has the taste of poverty and stuggle in his life, while the others have forgotten what makes a real rapper "Real". Like they say in these streets "Only Real Konws What Real Iz"
