50 Cent has slapped fast-food chain Taco Bell with a lawsuit for using his name without his expressed permission. The lawsuit claims Taco Bell Corp used his moniker in their 'Why Pay more?' print ad campaign, which suggests that 50 Cent change his name to 79, 89, or 99 Cent, in support of the chain's discounted menu items. "Without seeking or obtaining Jackson's authorization, defendant Taco Bell made him the star and focus of its nationwide advertising campaign by using his name, persona and trademark to promote Taco Bell's business and products," stated the federal lawsuit.
50 Cent claims the fast-food chain sent a phony letter to the media, but failed to seek his permission or inform him of the request. The rapper's lawyer Peter D. Raymond said his client wasn't aware of the letter until it made the news.
"We know that you adopted the name 50 Cent years ago as a metaphor for change," the letter read. "We at Taco Bell are also huge advocates for change. We encourage you to 'Think Outside the Bun' and hope you accept our offer."
Obviously 50 isn't accepting their offer. Instead, the rapper's is seeking $4 million in damages.

I think its pathetic that he believes this really "hurt" him in any way. An to add to that, 4 million????? He only got 1 million from Dre when he signed his record deal! He's not worth that much, much less the term "50 cent". I hope he doesnt get a penny! If you want more money Curtis, cut a album thats worth a damn and quit thinking you crap gold!

I don't paticularly like the guy's music, but if they did use his moniker without permission, it is illegal.
