Top 20 Hip-Hop Albums of All Time: No. 4

'Ready to Die,' by Notorious B.I.G.
A record that has become so steeped in hip-hop fable that it's hard to critique, 'Ready to Die' introduced the world to the deep-voiced Biggie Smalls, who was equal parts manic-depressive storyteller, 'One More Chance' baller and 'Gimme The Loot' gun-bucking Brooklyn bad boy. With production by Premier, the Hitmen and Easy Mo Bee, 'Ready to Die' was Big's defining work -- a sadly prophetic, undebatable classic.

hello dennis

B.I.G held New York down and the man did his thing for real. However, I must agree to a degree that The Notorious One was not on the level of 'Pac and a few others listed below him. We still miss you B.I.G and believe me we know many of these crap rappers would not be eatin if you 'Pac,and Punisher (the real king of New York)was still wit us R.I.P.Frank White.
