The multi-car pileup involving R&B singer Brandy continues to haunt her. Donald Lite, a man hurt during the accident is suing both Brandy and the deceased driver Awatef Aboudihaj for personal injury and negligence. In a document filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Dec. 8, Donald Lite alleges he sustained "serious and permanent injuries" because Brandy and Awatef Aboudihaj were traveling at an excessive speed resulting in failure to maintain a safe distance from each other.
On December 30, 2006, Brandy was driving her 2007 Land Rover when she collided with a vehicle driven by the 38-year-old Aboudihaj, a wife and mother of two. Brandy's vehicle smashed into a 1989 Toyota Tercel driven by the 82-year-old Lite, while a fourth car broadsided Aboudihaj, who died the following day as the result of major blunt force trauma.
Los Angeles prosecutors did not bring a criminal case against Brandy due to lack of evidence. But Lite has decided to press the matter in civil court seeking unspecified damages for pain and suffering as well as the cost of medical care and loss of wages, among other claims. There's been no word on when the case will go to trial.

I can understand suing the driver of the car that caused the accident, but the dead driver? Must be some sneaky insurance trick to get more money.

You've never heard of suing someone's estate? You live in the U.S. right? lmao

I'm surprised he is not sueing the City of Los Angles, the Calidornia Department of Transportation, and the manufactures of Land Rover and Tercel.

I am a former Special Investigator for a Large Insurance company. No "Sneaky Insurance Trick" simply "Cause of Loss" or "Cause of Accident"....."Had it not been for....then A, B, and C would not have happened." Simple logical analysis. It will be determined if one or both drivers were driving recklessly which then put others in danger. This makes them - of their Insurance Carrier liable.

Yes, you can sue the dead drivers estate, however, liability follows the car, then the driver of the car after that. Although Brandy would not likely have been guilty of wrongdoing, since she wasn't driving, her insurance would apply first. Brandy's liablity on her car would be primary, then if there was not enough insurance to cover damages, then the driver's insurance would be secondary. Doesn't seem right, since she wasn't driving, but that is the way it works.

sigh, another person trying to swindle some money from a celebrity
just leave brandy alone .

Brandy is a spoiled brat, just like most of them are. I hope they sue her so bad she won't be able to even buy makeup to cover up her ugly face. What an ugly big mouth that woman has.

Really? Chances are that she was driving while using her cell phone, maybe even texting and she KILLED someone. a MOTHER no less, who as far as I'm concerned, is far more important and had more to live for than Brandi's washed up behind.

An 82-year-old man suing for loss of wages? Sounds like the family wants to make a little money off of grampa's accident with Brandy.

I was thinking the same thing...what lost wages...

Maybe...or maybe not. My grandfather is turning 87 this January and he still works at his carpet cleaning business.
Hi Jill!at 12-21-2008
I agree, I don't think this is all the 82 year old doing this, this is family that needs money and the only way to get it is sue someone. He very well may have been able to still be working, but I can't see how suing both parties will do any good. It's just money hungry ambulance chaser that probably came to this man. Why after 2 years is he just now suing? It's not the man, it's the family and ambulance chasing low life lawyer's. Hope they don't get a penny.

I am so sick of clebrity justice. Just like Robert Blake, OJ Simpson, Halle Barry, Phil Spector and the rest of the damned bunch of them, Brandy got away with a crime that the average Joe would have been thrown in jail for. Its not right.
noshoremnat 12-21-2008
And I am sick of celebrity fans portraying the rich & beautifual and guilty as the victims. If is was a member of your family or yourselves that was hurt by these celebrities, you'd be suing as well.
