In a recent interview, Notorious B.I.G.'s mother Voletta Wallace finally responded to Lil' Kim's complaints about her portrayal in 'Notorious.'
"She felt the character we chose for her was 'too dark,'" Ms. Wallace, who also consulted on the film, explained. "Do you know why the character was too dark for her? Because she's a white woman trapped in a black woman's body, and you can tell the world I said it, because those are Lil' Kim's words. She should be ashamed of herself."
While it's impossible to conjure up the reasoning behind the pint-sized, plastic surgery-enhanced Queen Bee's issues with the casting, she did make clear on more than one occasion that she was less than thrilled about her portrayal in the film. It was rumored that Kim had requested they cast a lighter-skinned Hispanic or Asian woman for her role, rather than director George Tillman Jr.'s choice, former 3LW singer Naturi Naughton.
Wallace continued to dole out some sage advice for Kim, advising her to "go find herself, go drink a cup of green tea and get a life! This movie is not about Lil' Kim ... this movie is about my son. ... Lil' Kim needs to go sit down."
Biggie's former wife, Faith Evans, also had some words of wisdom for the Notorious K.I.M., in response to her complaints about the film, "I got four kids, and I definitely don't have time for this type of s---...It's just sad. I don't know Kim's story like that."
