Kanye West Defends Chris Brown, Calls OJ 'Amazing'

Kanye West is changing his tune on the Chris Brown and Rihanna alleged assault. The candid rapper briefly weighed in on the altercation during the taping of VH1's Storytellers earlier this month. "Can't we give Chris a break? ... I know I make mistakes in life," he said.

During the performance, West went on to talk about other headline grabbing celebrity legal woes. "Michael Jackson, amazing. Michael Phelps, amazing ... He's a real f---in' person; he makes mistakes," he said referring to the pictures that surfaced of Phelps' smoking marijuana. The crowd reciprocated with cheers but the Chicago native didn't stop there. "O.J. Simpson, amazing. Is he not? What he did, when he did, what he did. Was he not amazing though?"

However many of the rapper's remarks have been cut out of the show when it airs Saturday. Producer Bill Flanagan nixed the comments and some of stories for time not for political correctness. "A lot of the stories that Kanye told were long," he said. "I tried to get the essence of his comments." West's performance for VH1 story tellers lasted three hours but was edited down to 90 minutes, which is 30 minutes longer than the usual one hour show.

West performed 14 songs, which included 'Touch the Sky,' 'Stronger' and 'Amazing' and 'See You in My Nightmares.'

Last month in an interview with radio host Ryan Seacrest, West stated that he was "devastated" upon hearing the news of the alleged beating. "I feel like just as a person...that should never happen, it should never come to that place."

VH1 Storytellers airs tomorrow February 28 at 9 p.m.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOK. I was stunned at first. But in a good way, when I caught his performance on VH1. Wasen't planning on watching it but the channel was set on VH1 when the concert began. I was taken by his performance so, that I began downloading that first song he sang. But as me and boyfriend continued to watch it just got creepier and creepier. We both looked at each other like.......what the f@#%!!!! Especially after he mentioned his mom's death then continued by stating something like, should he kill that person and would it be wrong? What the hell was he talking about? Did I miss somethig? I put up with it as long as I could, but to be honest with you I was cringing most of the time after. It was the O.J. comment that did me in. I couldn't take anymore, it was truly f@#%ing up my mood. I was dumbfounded as well as disappointed, so was my boyfriend.

MUCH respect to all these dudes for crawling out of the holes many of them were born into, but that is where the respect ends for me. Their so called art is poison to our youth with its disrespect and condoning of abuse against women, and glamorizing drug dealing and violence against law in general. K West is the most arrogant and ignorant of them all. Everytime he opens his mouth "musically" or otherwise it makes me wanna puke. Word. Yes Im a cracker ass white guy who doesn't see life in colors, but rather attitude, and the attitude of many in the rap and hip hop world seems to suck to high heaven, rampant is reverse racism, hate and violence. Sorry if you grew up in that word, so did I, but never would I spread it around to kids like it was the norm. Clean up your act fools, or may your "art" die sooner than later. It is my sincere hope it goes the way of disco, dead dead dead.

I bet you if his momma was around, he would have a different tune about what is amazing. Idoit just sing that is what you're good for, we'll that's what you think you can do. What OJ was amazing by escaping jail time, the first time. Everything comes full circle. CB will get his share. MJ is in a spiral about to crash again. M P is come full circle.
