R&B singer and dancer extraordinaire Ciara is taking a decidedly new direction with her latest release 'Fantasy Ride,' which some see as a rip-off of Beyonce's current style. But the 23-year-old Atlanta native is tired of the comparisons and sees them as a waste of her time.
"I don't think there's really anything to address. I think it's very, very funny," Ciara said in a recent interview. "You know what my response is to that? For the ones that have something negative to say, they must have really enjoyed it that much to go and nitpick it."
In her latest video the singer wears a black leotard and metallic glasses similar to those worn by Beyonce in both her 'Single Ladies' and 'Diva' videos.
"My references were clearly inspired from shows that I've actually seen. It goes to show how creative we can be and how close the worlds are. I did my first video with my metal outfit. I was inspired by Thierry Mugler.
"From my understanding, Beyonce is using Thierry Mugler for her tour. It just is what it is. It's very petty to me. That's also the definition of a person having too much time on their hands to do nothing. That's how I look at that."
Ciara went on to say that the concept behind her new album is more eclectic than her previous efforts. On 'Fantasy Ride' she plays a superhero character named Super C. While on stage as the character she is more animated and tests the boundaries of her dance abilities.
"Super C is a star, and basically the superpower of Super C is that she's a chameleon," the singer told the BoomBox last month. "It's not my alter ego, but it's who I am. I say that because on stage everything is intensified this go-round, and I'm trying to do a lot of cool things with my body -- bend my body, stretch my body in crazy ways -- and that's Super C that's coming out."
Although the album has seen several pushbacks, 'Fantasy Ride' will officially hit stores May 5 and feature the singles 'Never Ever' and 'Love Sex Magic.'

Ciara is nothing like B, Ciara sings and dances way more naturally. While B to me is more mechanical, or stepford wife like when she dances or sings.

Ok Ciara now lets do real talk here!!!! She's been in this business long enough to know that you create your own Identity or they are going to compare you and I am sorry but that's being real! Beyonce has her own style they tried with RiRi and it didn't work and they tried it with Christinia Millian and that didn't work and they both saw that it was not going to work! Not only did they copy "Beyonce" style for ciara but they put a little Janet Jackson in there as well! Ciara honey you can't nbe made at nobody but yourself for not taking control of the situation and flat refuse to do it!!!! Your respect for yourself should have not allowed you to do so! She has to get her own Identiy! Take it back and link with Missy Elliot and ask her to help you because she is the queen of reinventing! She would be of great assistance to Ciara! But it's not going to work and no it's not petty to bring it to her attention not to try it! Beyonce can be immatated but not duplicated!!!! That's as real as they come! first anf formost i im so trying of people using beyonce name everytime an artist using big head and sexy dances moves. i love beyonce but ciara is a dancing she wants to be more sexy and i like it. i love to next video. she looks so good and it and she looks like herself .if you aare going to said that ciara is trying to be like beyonce you are wrong because big hair and sexy moves and diva looks goes way back . back to diana ross, tina turner and other . so if you can she that then beyonce is copying of them .

i agree with everything Rita says...not only that, NOTHING ciara does is original, including those old ass dance moves she keeps doing. i've seen all that before. ciara got dancing skills but she needs someone to reinvent her style cuz it is nothing but imitation. her singing ranks up there (better yet, down there) with ashanti but she does make good dance hits so thats what she should stick to. i thought i was the only one noticed they threw a lil janet in there too.

Okay, Let's keep it real Beyonce is not original. I am not trying to "hate" on her, but many artist have taken things from other artists in the past and try to make it there own and make it popular again. If, you look at anything in the Entertainment Industry it's evident. Everyone is so thirsty, trying to keep up what's commercial and what's saling that they are even taking from one another. Also, I am sure Christina Milian was solo and in the industry before Beyonce was. So this thing that she always copied Beyonce is ridiculous.
