Two executives at Trill Entertainment, the label which released singles by Webbie and Lil Boosie, have been charged with the attempted murder of Baton Rogue rapper Beelow. The incident occurred on July 4th, 2005, when Bruce "Beelow" Moore was shot in front of his store, Shop Smart Music and Fashion, after being accused of bootlegging several Trill Entertainment artists' music. The dispute escalated until one of Moore's assailants allegedly pulled a gun and shot him in the head. Moore was able to return shots, and was then driven to a local hospital where he was successfully treated.
On May 8th, 2009, Melvin Vernell Jr. and Marcus Roach, both CEO's of Trill Entertainment, were arrested and later charged with attempted murder, armed robbery, aggravated battery, illegal use of weapons, aggravated assault with a firearm and possession of an illegal firearm by a convicted felon.
Their bail was set at $350,000, and they were both ordered under nightly house arrest from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., until their trial. They were also instructed to avoid contact with anyone who might potentially testify in their case, including witnesses, victims and family members.
"If you see any of these people in a grocery store, you better leave. If you see any of them on one side of the street, you better get on the other side of the street,'' the presiding Judge said. "If you so much as sneeze in their direction, I'm going to put you in jail."
This the second case that members of Trill Entertainment are currently being investigated for. Earlier in the week, we learned that a federal agent had testified under oath that Lil Boosie had put a $30,000 bounty on the head of murdered rapper Nussie, and may have been responsible for the rapper's recent death.

Hey Ralph,
You could say the same that Rock & Roll was mostly influenced by drug use; punk music mostly talks about suicide; and country music is about being "buried next to the jukebox when you die." So instead of making such a big deal about rap music - look at movies/tv shows that feature people shooting, stabbing, and killing others, but they get away with it because they put up a, “Do not try this at home.”

The black's are far more racist than any other race. Black's can speak racial epitet's agains't Native Indians, asian's,hispanic's, and mostly agains't caucasian whites. But if anyone dares to even tell the truth and quote crime stat's and race related murders. You see, even telling the truth when it concernes a black, you will be labeled a racist !!! It's called reverse racism.

Sort of reminds us of the "big news" about Vick getting out of federal prison. The surprise just isn't there!
exoticdoc2at 5-22-2009
I find it amusing how the headlines keep reading "musician" or "music executive" or some such semi-respectable title is in trouble for murder, fraud or some other issue. Always seems to turn out to be just a rapper/hip-hopper. Gee, what a surprise.
nycmonk81at 5-22-2009
Yeah, the use the terms "musician" and "executive" very loosely on AOL.
Gailat 5-22-2009
It's somewhat misleading to call a bunch of thugs "Execs", when they are nothing but a bunch of thug gangsters who happen to have started a record label. Complete idiocy, as most rappers are.
