Atlanta-based rapper Bubba Sparxxx was arrested last week at a Hooter's restaurant for possession of narcotics. The 32-year-old was spotted at a Clearwater, Fla., restaurant branch, being handed the prescription drug Tranxene. According to TMZ, an off-duty police officer noticed the transaction. A search of the rapper's person revealed the pills, hidden in his wallet. Sparxxx, born Warren Anderson Mathis, was arrested on a felony possession of a controlled substance charge. He was released Monday after posting $2,000 bail.
Tranxene is an anti-anxiety pill used to treat both short and long-term anxiety disorders. The drug is also used to aid symptoms brought on by alcohol withdrawals, and can be used to treat epilepsy. Side effects of the drug include blurred vision, fatigue, mental confusion and genital or urinary tract disorders.
Sparxxx is best known as the protege of super producer Timbaland. His most popular singles include 'Ugly' and 'Ms. New Booty,' which peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts.
