Alicia Keys, Martha Stewart Celebate Whitney Houston's Comeback at Listening Event

The stars came out in New York last night to give veteran Whitney Houston a gracious welcome back to the game. Whitney shared tracks off her upcoming album, 'I Look to You,' at a listening party in Lincoln Center's Allen Room to a crowd that included both industry peeps and non-musical fans alike.

L.A. Reid, Gayle King, Clive Davis, Diane Sawyer and Martha Stewart, were on hand, with Stewart taking to her Twitter account immediately after the show to tell the world just how much she enjoyed the album. "Whitney Houston singing and performing better than ever last night!!" an enthusiastic Stewart wrote.

Clive Davis played host at the listening party, giving a little background information on the creation of the album, including his own writing involvement before presenting the music. "This album is really a very, very special one," Clive told Entertainment Tonight. "Whitney does find meaning in lyrics and songs that the composers don't even know was there, so she is really an all-time artist."

Highlights from the nine songs on the album include the catchy, "Million Dollar Bill," written by Alicia Keys, and produced by Swizz Beatz -- both of whom were in attendance -- as well as the title track, 'I Look to You' and 'Salute,' both penned by R. Kelly. "I just think that the songs themselves will speak to you when you hear them, and you'll understand where I am [and] some of the changes I've gone through for the better," Houston told ET.

The album, which hits stores on September 1, will be Houston's first new work since her 2002 album, 'Just Whitney.'

Whitney is and always will be the best female entertainer. I am confident she will shine again with her new alum being released in September.

I just love Whitney Huston, I really enjoyed the Movie, she made with Kevin Costner. She is a fine actress, and the best Pop, singer, since Ella Fitzgerald. She will carry the torch, for Ella. I wish you the best Whitney, because you ARE the best. I am so glad you got rid of that 'man', and I use that term, because I can't print here what I really call him. Good luck to you, and your beautiful daughter, God Bless you, and yours. Knock 'em dead', as ONLY you can do.
