Rapper Nas and his soon-to-be ex-wife Kelis are both celebrating the birth of their son, but according to reports the doting dad was not allowed in the delivery room. Kelis, was rushed to a hospital Tuesday, ironically forcing her to postpone a scheduled child support hearing. "Nas is in New York City today, anxiously awaiting the arrival of his son. It was his intention to be there for the birth, but unfortunately he has not been allowed to be present," said a source close to the rapper. "While this is clearly heartbreaking to him, Nas continues to offer his support and love to his new baby boy and his mother." According to reports, Nas rushed to the hospital when he received word Kelis went into labor, but missed the actual birth.
The couple tied the knot in 2005 following a two-year engagement. Following their recent split, negotiations between the two have gotten pretty ugly. Kelis stated that without Nas' financial support she would not be able to survive, as her pregnant condition hindered her ability to work. She stated that her ex made upwards of $11 million last year, a claim that he later refuted.
The birth of their son marks the first child for Kelis, and the second for Nas, who has a 15-year-old daughter, Destiny, from a previous relationship.

aw jeez people, wear a condom.
missjaritaat 7-22-2009
They were married, therefore, they didn't need to use a condom. However, it is unexcusable for Nas's behavior of cheating. The soluation is they need to compromise by learning to work things out and seek God first.

WTF are you fools talking about? Get the facts first. Kelis made a porno with someone else...while they were married.

I am in love and his name is Mr. Nature Cleanse http://cli.gs/NatureCleanse ! This is by far the best cleansing product available. I saw it on Oprah and thought I would give it a try. Nature Cleanse has pretty much changed the way I live my life. My daily chores are done in a breeze and I have more energy, not to mention more time in my day since I don't mind jumping out of bed in the mornings at 7:00 am now. This is not just a cleanser. It is also a detox. I can feel it working and have only been using it for 6 weeks.
I owe my life to http://cli.gs/NatureCleanse

Best laugh I've had today: pregnancy is a disability? It makes you unable to work? Jeez, Louise,I always worked and I've been pregnant. Let me think, if she hadn't married a man who makes big bucks, might she look at pregnancy like the rest of ou us do? When are these young couples going to learn to live within their means? When did it become necessary to live such austentatious lives? What kind of upbringing will these children have?

Every women has a different experience when pregnant. Some are really sick, some are put on bed rest, some are just fine. I am five months pregnant and was extremely sick for three months. I know women who were sick for the entire 9 months, and some who felt fine. So just because you had a positive experience(s), does not make you the authority for all pregnancies.

Please don't use big words you cannot spell in an attempt at showing your intelligence. The word you were looking for is Ostentatious.

WELL, BEING A HUSBAND AND A FATHER OF 2, MY WIFE WAS HIGH RISK AND COULD NOT WALK MORE THAN 20 FEET AT A TIME DUE HE HIGH RISK PREGNACY. BUT KUDOS TO YOU IF YOU WERE ABLE TO WORK DURING YOUR PREGNACY, BUT EVERY WOMAN IS NOT THE SAME.

Technically according the employment law, pregnancy is looked upon as a disability.
I worked during my pregnancy and was lucky enough to not be sick even one day if you don't count a completely breach baby with a cord around her neck. i'm lucky to live in this time and so was my baby, 100 yrs ago we would probably not have survived. Several women I know, nearly died carrying a baby or were bedridden for most of their pregnancy so on that note let me leave you with this quote, you might consider next time:
"tis better to be thought a fool then to open one's mouth and remove all doubt." Abe Lincoln
if they are married, ostentatious living or not, he needs to pay reasonable support end of story. If he didn't have a pre-nup "tuff titty" says the kitty.

this is why women need to have thier own shit! even though they divorced, she still needs to depend on him. WTF! women don't even settle to quit your job to be a housewife. Being a housewife is not a job!And men don't ever get with a girl that wants a fairy tale life where you work all day and she spends your money. This is ridiculous and this is truly embarrassing for me to see this happening. it's 2009, people need to grow out of the old times.

Thinking that a being a housewife is not a job, is exactly why today's youth is so screwed up. Someone should take the responsibility to be home with their children. If you do not want to stay home, then do not have kids. By the way, there was a study done a year ago that put dollar figure on what a housewife would make if she were paid. It was 120,000. So it is actually a job, a thank-less none paying one.

Is you my daddy ?

Since he was not allowed in the delivery room she should not be allowed in the court for the custody, alimony, and paternity hearings. however, i truly hope they can mediate their issues without court intervention. that seems to be the new SLAVERY!
Colleenat 7-22-2009
She doesn't have to let him in the delivery room. She is the one exposed. He can wait in the waiting room and see his son when it is over. With the way these 2 are battling in court it wouldn't be healthy for her or the baby to put extra pressure on her while actually giving birth. Now he should be able to see his son afterwards but that's about all he has a right to.
