Nas to Pay Kelis $55,000 a Month in Child Support

And the winner is ... Kelis! A judge has ordered her soon-to-be ex-hubby Nas, to pay her $55,000 per month. The 29-year-old who just gave birth to the pair's first child together, Knight Jones, will receive the monthly payment, which will cover both child and spousal support.

Nas, born Nasir Jones, will also foot the bill for his ex's mortgage, prenatal expenses and medical insurance. Additionally he will pay $35,000 to Kelis' lawyer Laura Wesser. A well-known celebrity divorce lawyer, Wesser's previous clients include Angelina Jolie, Stevie Wonder, and Britney Spears.

The estranged couple have been battling it out in court since news of their split broke in April. Kelis claimed that her ex was being stingy with his reported $11 million salary, incurred from his record deal with current label, Def Jam. Nas refuted such claims, noting that he made closer to $4 million from the deal.

Despite the birth of their son, it doesn't look like the two will be reconciling anytime soon. According to reports, Nas was noticeably intoxicated during an impromptu performance in his former Queens, NY, neighborhood. The rapper announced the birth of his son to the crowd but made no mention of Kelis.

I THINK CHILD SUPPORT IS OVERRATED. IN ALL THOSE DECISIONS, NOT ONCE DID ANYONE THINK ABOUT THE CHILD NEEDS. THIS YOUNG LADIES ONLY SEE $$$$, THEY ARE BABY MAKING MACHINES.

now the judge had to think his or her decision very thoroughly and i feel it was the right one because the baby and his mother should be taken care of.nas makes enough to stop feelinhg like a loser. if he wanted to be rid of his wife, hes clearly the winner because damn right its better than yours.....

Hi Keith.

wow! it only shows how ridiculis the system is. She left him for what reason? because he was stingy with his money! She should get a job and pay her own f**king spousal support, child support is one thing, you make it so pay for it if your not there in his life. He didnt cheat on her or committ any audultry, boy did he get f**ked over big time.

YOu need to go after the school district where you were educated...it did not take.

Also suggest that you only know what you apparently have figured out in attempting to read and not the real facts of the case, something that the judge knew and based a decision on in the case. In case you are naot aware, the more you have the more you pay...what do you think she should get $50 a week???
