Jay-Z managed to raise the ire of two of hip-hop's most vocal opponents when he dissed Fox News politcal commentator Bill O'Reilly and conservative talk-show host Rush Limbaugh in a line from a new song off his forthcoming album 'The Blueprint 3.'The song is titled 'Off That,' and features ubiquitous Canadian MC Drake in an otherwise harmless ditty, barring the line which caught the right-wing media kingpins' ears. "This ain't black vs white, my n----, we off that/Please tell Bill O'Reilly to fall back/Tell Rush Limbaugh/To get off my b----/It's 2010, not 1864," Jay spit.
O'Reilly initially responded by sarcastically referring to Jay as "A regular Otis Redding," a pretty mild reaction by O'Reilly's explosive standards.
Limbaugh, however, was less staid in his response. He spoke about the song yesterday, saying "As far as I know, I've never been mentioned in a rap song by anybody. I guess it means I made it, I'm now in a rap tune by the famous rapper Jay-Z."
The outspoken talk-show host then launched into a diatribe which somehow connected the Jay diss to President Obama's alleged stance on circumcision, a train of thought which even we couldn't quite connect.
"I would remind the rapper Jay-Z, Mr. Z, it is President Obama that wants to mandate circumcision," Limbaugh said. "We had that yesterday, and that means if anybody -- if we need to save our penises from anybody, it's Obama. I did not know I was on anybody's balls either. I'm happy to know that they think I am though."
This is not a diss of the Noel Gallagher magnitude, yet we anticipate Jay's name coming up in all kinds of random unrelated discussions on the show, now that he's on Limbaugh's random radar.
