After persistent rumors of a troubled marriage, Usher and celebrity stylist Tameka Foster-Raymond officially filed for divorce back in June. The couple, who wed in August 2007 have two sons together, but decided to call it quits after less than two years of marriage. In the upcoming October issue of Upscale magazine, Usher's ex-wife finally opened up about her divorce from the R&B star and the negativity that followed. "Unfortunately I think that some black women are -- subconsciously -- not in love with the image they see in the mirror," she said. "Therefore in turn they do not love someone like me. I look too much like them. They would definitely have preferred my husband marry someone more exotic looking. I was not given a fair shot. People passed judgment without getting to know me."
But despite her bitter journey with the public, Foster-Raymond, who runs her own styling company, Swanky Image Group, maintains that she holds no hard feelings against Usher. "The dissolution of marriage is always upsetting," she continued. "You have the expectation that it will work. But, you know what? It didn't work. But [Usher's] a great guy. I will always love him."
Usher is currently working on his forthcoming album, 'Monster,' which is slated for an October release. The LP is a follow up to his last studio album, 2008's 'Here I Stand.'

What the heck is she talking about. I don't people cared for her because she was an older woman (compared to Usher) who left her husband for Usher. Yes, Usher bears some responsibility for his actions, but she should know better. She lived the high life for a minute, now it's over. I personally was happy Usher married a sista - she was just the wrong sista. Like Usher's mama tried to tell him.

Its not over She was real quick to have 2 babies in the 2 year marriage. She knew she better act quick! He was a fool for not listening to his mother. Hopefully this woman does right by herself and her children, But you know Mama always knows best Usher!

What she has said may be the truth. But what the heck does it have to do with why her marriage failed?!!!
There were a lot of other factors that had nothing to do with her appearance. If only so called (beautiful) people marriages survived, there would be very few people married at all.
Besides, she is a very attractive woman. More likely the pressure of being in such a high profile marriage. Their age difference. But to blame her failed marriage on other peoples opinion of her is ridiculous.
I hope Ms. Tameka gets counseling to come to understand which part she played in her failed marriage so that hopefully in the future she will not make the same mistakes.

yeah she is a gold digger. Maybe she wanted love too though girls. don't be haters, we would all love to find someone who was rich and loved us too...so stop it already. Divorce is rough especially where kids are involved. And its not just black women that hate each other, its ALL women of ALL colors. Asian, white, hispanic...JEALOUSY is ugly. Strive for the best for yourself and NEVER worry about what someone else has.

I think this worked out just as she planned it. shoot she gets to marry a super star & live that life for a while and if it doesn't work out, oh well she'll just be paid like if she is still in the life. remember he now has to pay alimony and child support for two kids. I bet anyone this chick aint getting married to no one else to keep the checks coming.

Well, I don't think people disliked her because she was black, he's black.. I think it was more that she was very unattractive and even though he is unattractive but because he's rich and famous he should still be with an attractive woman. Society expects that. She was very masculant looking. There are a lot of beautiful black women, he just didnt marry one. Beautiful inside and out.

Tamika or what ever your name is. I am an African in America all the 32 strong PHD black women in my family who migrated here and worked hard all love themselves very much. Dont go making generalized public statements about your race like that. It is tachy. Even if you have a problems with some black women you keep it to yourself. As a minor public figure Airing out to the public a negative view of what "you think" women in your race think about themselves make us all look bad in a country where racism still exist.
