According to CNN.com, Shawn Stockman of the R&B group Boyz II Men is the latest celebrity to be stricken by the H1N1 virus, commonly known as swine flu. Fellow group members Wanya Morris and Nathan Morris confirmed Stockman's illness and explained that as a result he was unable to join the group for a scheduled performance at the 2009 Soul Train Awards."We tour eight months out of the year," Morris told CNN. "It's hectic for us always being in airplanes and airports. He got sick, and it hit him pretty hard." The group plan on moving forward and taking the stage at the award show taping tonight in Atlanta. Fortunately, Stockman is already said to be "doing much better" and should be rejoining his group members shortly. "We go all over the world really, so I am surprised it hasn't happened earlier," Morris said.
The Grammy-winning trio -- formerly a quartet -- are gearing up for the release of a covers album dubbed 'Love,' which is set to hit stores on Nov. 17.
