Chris Brown responded to "haters" insulting his recently leaked album cover for 'Graffiti,' in a Twitter rant."Who cares if my pants r fitted. its called fashion. Im so tired of closed minded people. Im 100% comfortable wit my sexuality. Im a grown man," the community service-sentenced singer tweeted.
The album cover depicts Brown in black spandex pants and rocking a suit jacket with a guitar in one hand and a spray can in the other. It was thought to be a joke by online critics and received a similar reception to rapper Guru's 'Version 7.0' 'Matrix' -themed album cover, a parody of which can be seen here.
Besides Brown's choice of costume for the cover and the fact that he's "writing graffiti," the "graffiti" logo at the bottom resembles the animation from Paula Abdul's 1998 "Opposites Attract" video.
"My fashion isnt limited to baggy azz jeans and fitted caps.. i did that in 05. Cmon son. Hating is so lame.." Brown tweeted in his defense.
It seems worth pointing out that iconic figures like Michael Jackson and Prince have worn similar outfits ... but they did it more than 20 years ago.
Note to new school R&B singers: Michael and Prince did A LOT of things you shouldn't attempt. Make your own 'Off the Wall,' 'Thriller' or 'Purple Rain' and you can wear all the spandex you want.
Chris Brown's 'Graffiti' will be released December 15.
