When you put Snoop Dogg and "bowl" in the same sentence, the last thing you'd expect is news on his youth football team. Of course, with Snoop you often get the unexpected and it's almost always delightful. 'Tha Doggfather' recently announced Feb. 6 as the date for his annual Snoop Bowl competition -- a head-to-head youth gridiron battle that pits his trademark Snoop Dogg Allstars against another celebrity-helmed team. So, who is Snoop's coaching competition this year? None other than Terrell Owens and Joey Porter -- two of the NFL's biggest names. Look out, Coach Snoop!
"I am happy that we've been doing this event for eight years," said Snoop in an official statement on the event. "The kids love it and I do too. The future NFL stars play in this game annually and it's fun to watch the kids imitate their favorite NFL stars. The Snoop Bowl is as big as the Super Bowl to every kid playing organized football in the USA because they aspire to play against my team or to be coached by Coach Snoop "The Great." I love being me. Wouldn't you like to be an All-Star, too?!"
Yes, yes I would, Mr. Dogg. The match takes place at Miami's Traz Powell Stadium on Feb. 6 at 1:30 PM.
