California rapper Snoop Dogg will be hosting his Eighth Annual 'Snoop Bowl' in Miami on Saturday, Feb. 6. The charity event, which takes place the day before the NFL's Super Bowl, pits Snoops's team, the "Snoop Dogg All Stars" against a local Miami youth football team coached by Miami Dolphin Joey Porter. The game has raised over $100,000 for various charities in the past, and is a big hit with the kids.
"I'm happy that we've been doing this event for eight years," said Snoop. "The kids love it and I do too. The future NFL stars play in this game annually and it's fun to watch the kids imitate their favorite NFL stars." In addition to Porter, other NFL stars lending their coaching expertise include Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor and the Buffalo Bills' Terrell Owens.
"The Snoop Bowl is as big as the Super Bowl to every kid playing organized football in the USA because they aspire to play against my team or to be coached by Coach Snoop 'The Great." Snoop is scheduled to reveal more information about the game at a press conference this Friday.
