Diddy's long-delayed "electro" album 'Last Train to Paris' has finally received a concrete release date -- June 22, 2010.For over a year Diddy has been promoting the record, his sixth, which he claimed to be an "electro-hip-hop-soul-funk" collaboration with his group, Dirty Money, featuring Dawn Richard of Danity Kane and singer/songwriter Kalenna.
Diddy said the album was influenced by "by being in the dance music world ... and in Ibiza." DJs Felix da Housecat, Erick Morillo, Deep Dish, and DJ Hell are said to have inspired the album with Diddy going so far as to release a techno/house mixtape with Felix da Housecat, which was then repeatedly delayed.
'Last Train to Paris' was initially scheduled for a September 22, 2009 release date, but it appeared that Diddy got cold feet about releasing the extremely Euro-club-themed record. Not only did he push it back several times, the rap mogul moved the album's home to Interscope Records, and added hip-hop guest appearances by Lil Wayne, Drake and Kanye West.Though Dirty Money may no longer be prominently featured on the release, they have appeared in several videos from the 'Last Train,' including 'Angels' and 'Love Come Down.'
In addition to the June 22 drop date of the album, Diddy has confirmed that the collaboration with Kanye West, 'I'm so Appalled,' and the Drake-featured 'Hurt' will both be on the album. We're interested to see how it turns out.
