Aspiring Brooklyn rapper Gregory "G Baby" Brown was fatally shot after a Fabolous concert in New York on Friday (March 12). Although details are scarce, the shooting took place at Amazura Nightclub in Queens after a show thrown by cell phone company, Metro PCS and local radio station Hot 97. Fab took to his Twitter page to express his condolences. "Life is not Promised," he wrote. "Live Life to the fullest, & like there is no 2moro ... Lost a soldier in the field this morning..R.I.P. G. Baby."
According to his MySpace page, Brown grew up in the Bedford-Stuyvesant area of Brooklyn and was a close friend of rapper Memphis Bleek. "I'm in mood I can't explain," Bleek wrote on his Twitter page. "I lost a real n---- 2day R.I.P to my n---- who was like a bro to me!! G.BABY.. Love u G...." G-Unit members Tony Yayo and Lloyd Banks also tweeted message for Brown. "R.I.P to the homie G BABY," wrote Banks while Yayo added "RIP 2 G Baby."
No word yet on whether or not authorities have any suspects.
