Say What! -- Jill Scott Talks Interracial Dating + More

In a recent column in Essence, singer Jill Scott spoke her mind about interracial dating. "You know the moment when you realize that fine, accomplished brother is with a White woman? Let's call it 'the wince,'" Scott wrote. "My new friend is handsome, African-American, intelligent and seemingly wealthy. He is an athlete, loves his momma, and is happily married to a White woman. I admit when I saw his wedding ring, I privately hoped. But something in me just knew he didn't marry a sister. Although my guess hit the mark, when my friend told me his wife was indeed Caucasian, I felt my spirit...wince. I didn't immediately understand it. My face read happy for you. My body showed no reaction to my inner pinch, but the sting was there, quiet like a mosquito under a summer dress." The article is pretty interesting, definitely worth a read. Pretty sure that people of all races/nationalities feel this way, though, to some degree. [Essence]

Deep house producer Kaskade claims Lady Gaga is finally making dance music mainstream. "There was a little creeping up there in the '80s and early '90s with Deee-Lite, and Madonna was voguing, and it was like, 'Oh my gosh, is this gonna happen?' " he said. "But the timing wasn't right yet. When Lady Gaga did it, we were all like, 'Cool.' This really is our time." Uh...Daft Punk? [MTV]

See these Black Athletes are the stupidest men. How can you "Love your momma who is black and married to a White Woman? Does YOUR White Wife have black girlfriends? Nope.

I ain't talking about that stupid cable tv show, where they have all the ballers wives are black and one of the black athlete whose about to become a washed up football player that has a white wife who happens to friends with black wives and girlfriends. That show is so unrealistic its not funny or interesting.

Once that Black man is broke he'll want to come back to his roots!

That shows true ignorance. What are you trying to do keep your race pure? My dad is black, and my mother is white. My father has dated my black women, but in the end, it was my mother he fell in love with. Not because of her color, but because of how loving and kind she is. But underneath all that she can get as loud and ghetto as the rest of the black women in America, as can I. If you don't like it when a black man marries a white woman, you can either A: get over it, or B: get even and marry a white man. But really you should get over it. We have a mixed president with a beautiful black wife. STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT EVERYTHING!!!!
