'Big Pimpin'' Sparks Demi Moore, Kim Kardashian Twitter Debate

Another reason that the Internet is totally crazy: Sometimes a song that's over a decade old can cause two over-sharing celebrities to fight each other. That's exactly what happened the other night when Kim Kardashian posted a Twitpic of a night on the town with Serena Williams, Kelly Rowland and DJ La La Vazquez and a caption that read: "Big Pimpin." Moore, apparently ignorant to one of Jay-Z's biggest singles, took issue with the term "pimpin" and questioned her younger counterpart as to why she would use the word.

"Are you using the word 'pimpin' as in pimping?" asked Moore. Kardashian replied, "Doesn't everyone? LOL."

"No disrespect I love a girls night out but a pimp and pimping is nothing more than a slave owner!" Moore retorted.

Bold counterpoint, Demi. This, of course, brought a ton of replies by fans and followers of each side. Most tried to explain to Moore how "pimpin" isn't used in a literal sense very often these days -- something she should probably know about if she has had any connection with culture over the last 20 years. Kardashian then clarified that her group had just been dancing to Jay-Z's 'Big Pimpin' and her caption was just quoting the moment.

"Nothing wrong with dancing to 'Big Pimpin' by Jay-Z in the club," Kardashian wrote. "Having a girls night out, gotta love that song!"

"Just so ya'll are clear I like @KimKardashian," Moore backtracked. I was just making a point about how we have used a word and desensitized the real meaning... Clearly I stirred up a s--- storm, but 2 create change U have 2 be willing 2 take a risk and be willing 2 provoke thought & conversation."

Yes, and using numbers as a substitution for words is also a great way to provoke "thought & conversation." Look what you did, Hov.

You have to use abbreviations and numbers to get your point across because of LIMITATIONS with Twitter. Demi can't help it if she has more to say than the average "tweet" allows, but as long as you come to the defense of either a black person or a person who dates black people. I find it interesting that you had NOTHING to say about the "pimpin" comment. I guess Demi just doesn't "get it." Doesn't she know that blacks have been ok with "pimpin," and all references to it for centuries now, not to mention the passing the buck that comes with it. Stupid Demi...

Wow. You ALL suck. Seriously. You guys DO know this is all publicity, right? And Mira...deaths never really make national headlines UNLESS it has some sort of impact value. Unless the kid had something going for him publicity-wise, it sorta makes sense for it NOT to hit the news. You're letting your grief cloud your judgement and making an ass of yourself on the Internet. Now, as for Demi using letters instead of words, it's probably because Twitter has a certain character limit, no?

First of all, Kim Kardashian and her Has-Been friends are riding high on the wive that is America's incessant need for making reality tv relevent to their everyday lives. WHO CARES WHAT THESE PEOPLE DO??? Any of the Kardashians, whether it be the fat one, the pregnant doormat, the loser brother with incestious tendencies (check out his "hookups" look exactly like his sister, the big assed one, the cougar matriarch, or the younger ones who are headed down the path of a brain dead existence survived only by their "fame" and "looks..." they're all just people with lots of money and, no ambition, with zero grace. But it's not their fault.. it's all those morons who follow their scripted lives after a long day of tolerating their own meaningless one. And as far as Demi's comment.. well... what can I say about this "actor".. she should just go back to her luxuries home, sit by the phone and wait for one of her daughters to call asking her accompany her the CDC; the only place that will do their pap smears.
