Ludacris Builds Playground for Elementary School

Ludacris has spent the past two months traveling door-to-door in an effort to emphasize the importance of the U.S. Census, and with one mission completed, the Atlanta rapper has moved onto his next philanthropic endeavor.

The Ludacris Foundation teamed up with the Entertainment Industry Foundation's (EIF) iParticipate and United Healthcare's 'Do Good. Live Well.' campaign to construct a new playground for the Venetian Hills Elementary School in Atlanta, this past weekend. The three foundations provided support to KaBoom, a national nonprofit organization which focuses on providing play spaces for children.

Ludacris -- a long-time supporter of youth advocate programs -- joined over 100 volunteers to build the new playground, the school's first in the past 15 years. His involvement in the project is part of a larger effort to promote volunteer work. Luda has teamed up with iParticipate for an upcoming campaign to promote community service. The campaign will premiere on October 19, as a week-long TV series which documents the work celebrities are doing to contribute to their communities.

Before you all go over to his house and jerk him off, ya wanna list all the stupid and criminal things this jerk has done. So he put up some cash for a play ground (that is a good thing) but he probably doesn't need another hummer with gold rims so he thought he buy something else. He's still nothing but a gang banging, drug doing over paid rapper, which doesn't even classify as music to begin with.

hrlybill,

You are funny. I know Luda and he is NOT a gang banger and who are you to judge? What have you done for your community with your time and money?

I also work with a gentleman who was there volunteering at the Venetian Hills School which his daughter attends and he had nothing but good things to say about Luda as well. This man has been giving back to the community before he was a "super star".

You biggots really trip me out on the message boards. Stop hatin' and go help somebody your damn self.

So he rich and creating jobs for people...ummm...what's wrong with that? Nothing because it is the American way. Get a life dude and stop hatin'.

It good to see someone gets it and Luda always has and he gives back at every chance. Luda I commend you for getting yourself and family taken care of then coming back and helping those that you once were. Nicely done..

It is tuly ashame that when a person does good the media does not high light it. Always the negative. I am not a rap fan but wish more of the good that is done by this generation is praised. Let the negative go. Thank you Sir for helping our children.
God bless and may all that is good come your way.

Count me in on the "props". For someone that uses some questionable lyrics in songs (I'm a fan though), he seems to always be helping others in "our" community to have a betta way. Good actor too. Hope he does more of that.

BET and Bob Johnson could learn a thing or two.

His next philanthropic project should be for youth literacy, to make up for the fact that on account of him, a whole generation no longer knows how to spell the word 'ludicrous.'

Doing very good things.. Love to see it and hear about it. The powers that be on TV don't want to show this image of Hip Hop artists though. They would rathr show you them being handcuffed and heading to prison. "lil Wayne, TI,.. etc" WIsh more people would get the big picture.
Do your people proud Luda
