Da Brat Released From Prison

After serving close to three years behind bars, rapper Da Brat has been released from prison. The Atlanta rapper, who is out on a work release program, showed up on a video with longtime friend and collaborator Jermaine Dupri for his 'Living the Life," web series.

"Guess whose back in the mother----ing house," she said in the video. "I'm out on a little pass. I had to do some lawyer, attorney stuff." Brat went on to thank her fans for their support and for sending her letters while she was locked away. The 36-year-old also revealed that her new job is the polar opposite of her musical career. "I make windows," she said. "If ya'll need a window, holla at ya girl. I'm doing my thing. When I come back I'm going to be making windows, movies, music, TV shows. Anything I can get my hands on."

Brat plead guilty to felony aggravated assault for attacking Shayla Stevens, a waitress at Dupri's Atlanta nightclub, Studio 72, back in 2007. She was sentenced to three years behind bars, seven years probation and 200 hours of community service. According to reports, Brat, born Shawntae Harris, hit the victim in the face with a bottle leaving a "deep laceration" on her cheek. Stevens later filed a civil suit against Brat and Dupri alleging that the So So Def labelhead did nothing to defuse the altercation. As a result, Stevens, a cheerleader, actress and dance choreographer was forced to miss promotional and other work related appearances.

WOW IS THIS REALLY WHAT THE WORLD IS COMING TOO? PEOPLE DISRESPECTING EACH OTHER FOR WHAT. YOU ALL HAVE GOOD POINTS. Black people always putting eachother down, when will we learn. You all need to grow up, cuzzing eachother out and talking about someone article. At least their doing something positive, what are you doing? Talking mess about their spelling and cussing people out. Help build people up, not tear them down.

You lost complete credibility when you said "Quite likely he is not a Christian".If you want to know why so many people hate religious people, it's because of people like you. Always trying to find a way to throw in that you think being a christian makes you better then everyone else. I rarely curse, and I'm not a christian. What happens when another one of your christian leaders falls again? You won't be able to say "quite likely he is not a Christian". Good job ruining your own comment with your religion.
