A new video game will finally give die-hard Michael Jackson fans a chance to measure their moonwalking skills.Game developer Ubisoft is currently eyeing a Christmas release for a new dance-karaoke game, which will feature songs from Jackson's extensive music catalog. The as-yet-unnamed video game will allow fans to sing-a-long to Jackson's hit songs, like 'Billie Jean' and 'Beat It,' but more importantly, to imitate MJ's signature dance moves on the screen.
Ubisoft Marketing Vice President Tony Key explained that the new "Kinect and Move" motion-detecting camera systems will allow fans to mimic the dance moves on the screen in order to score points. "Your goal is to dance like Michael," Key explained at Ubisoft's Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles. "Do what the guy on the screen is doing and you're there. It'll score you based on the quality of your performance."
The new game will be available on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, in addition to the Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS and PlayStation Portable gaming systems. It will be released shortly after the November debut of a new Michael Jackson album, which contains previously unreleased songs.
Michael Jackson passed away on June 25, 2009, after suffering from cardiac arrest. To commemorate the anniversary of his death, fans will be allowed to visit to Forest Lawn cemetery in Glendale, Calif., where he was laid to rest in September.
