Despite the drama surrounding her upcoming album 'Basic Instinct,' Ciara was more than excited to reveal the release date for her fourth studio project this week. The ATL singer took to Twitter on Tuesday (June 29) to announce the album's official debut date, writing. "RT RT!! Basic Instinct album release date!!!!! August 24!!"'Basic Instinct,' will be produced by Tricky Stewart and The-Dream, who recently deleted his Twitter account after controversial comments claiming that the album would be Ciara's last chance to succeed. The two have since patched things up, but Ciara has had some additional troubles with her album promotion.
The video for the album's first single 'Ride,' was recently removed from the BET roster for its' overt sexual content and Ciara told MTV News that she was surprised at the decision from BET.
"My intention is always to do something as good as I can do it, to give my best effort and I always hope that it comes out the way that I envision it. You never necessarily think, 'Oh, this is gonna get banned,' Ciara said. "In my past experiences with BET, in particular, they have asked me maybe to take out a few things so normally you expect that -- not necessarily banned. That was the first time for me and that was definitely something unexpected."
A rep from BET later explained to MTV News that they failed to receive a response from Ciara's team after requesting some normal video edits. Ciara's previous release was her 2009 album 'Fantasy Ride.'
