LeBron James transcended the sports world last night, capturing national attention in an hour-long ESPN special in which he announced a move from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Miami Heat. While Kanye West was present at the taping, the rapper remained silent throughout the night and wasn't even shown by ESPN during the coverage. As for other hip-hop personalities, silence didn't seem to be an option. Twitter provided a wide range of opinions on James' choice to form a super team with Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh."LeBron is such a class act," wrote Fab 5 Freddy. "Hard to hate him, unless you live in Cleveland!" Diddy echoed those sentiments, saying he was happy that LeBron was at least moving to his home away from home.
Others like J. Cole, Questlove and Q-Tip were skeptical of the move, while Miami locals Rick Ross and DJ Khaled were totally overjoyed. "Courtside seats went up 30stacks in 30mins!!!!!" said an excited Ross, who also dubbed himself the Jack Nicholson of Miami. "Got 5 anyway!!!!"
