Will.i.am Opposes New Michael Jackson Album

Sony Music recently announced that it would be releasing a posthumous album of unreleased music from Michael Jackson in November, with collaborators like Ne-Yo, Akon and Black Eyed Peas' Will.i.am. But apparently, the BEP front man, who recorded with Jackson during the re-release of 'Thriller' in 2008, isn't keen on the album seeing the light of day.

'I don't think that should ever come out. That's bad,' he told Billboard. 'He was a perfectionist and he wouldn't have wanted it that way. How you gonna release Michael Jackson when Michael Jackson ain't here to bless it?'

Will.i.am continued by attacking Sony Music, calling them 'freaking parasites.' 'Now that he is not part of the process, what are they doing? Why would you put a record out like that? Because he was a friend of mine, I just think that's disrespectful,' he said. 'What's wrong with what he already contributed to the world?'

Ne-Yo previously echoed similar sentiments, stating that it would be 'disrespectful' to sell songs that he originally penned for Jackson. Meanwhile, producer Rodney Jerkins is taking the opposite approach to the others, with plans to release another album of previously unheard material recorded during sessions with Jackson. There is currently no release date set for Jerkins's collection of unreleased tracks.
