When the majority of songs off an artist's album leak, the best action one can take is to scrap it and start anew. In the case of Teairra Mari, that's just what she's doing. The Detroit songstress has decided to halt the release of her sophomore album, 'At That Point,' to re-record new material as a result of her work being leaked.

'Sponsor'-one of the singles that dropped off the project earlier this year-was the last track heard from Mari until the recent release of the Warren "Oak" Felder-produced 'Body.' The song, which showcases Mari's signature vocals, will appear on her forthcoming DJ Drama-hosted EP, 'Sincerely Yours.' The two singles are among the chosen tracks featured on her new effort, set for an August 17 digital release on iTunes.

Other than Gucci Mane and Soulja Boy, who both assist on 'Sponsor,' the EP shows no signs of collaborators. Seven tracks in total make up the effort, the remaining five being 'Uneasy,' 'Emergency,' 'Lucky,' 'Operator' and the bonus track, 'Stranger.'

In an interview with Rap-UpTV, the R&B singer spoke on her decision to ditch what was to become her sophomore opus. "Honey, I am past that point," she admitted. Mari went on to reveal that she's already recorded four songs for her new album with producer HotSauce and songwriter London.

The month of August is a productive one for Teairra Mari. Besides the unveiling of her 'Sincerely Yours' EP, she'll also be starring in 'The Lottery Ticket,' alongside Ice Cube and Bow Wow. The film opens in theaters on August 20.

I would have created all new material if most of my album was leaked.
