Ciara and Hilson have a history of enmity, including lyrical attacks at one another in song form, but their animosity has remained on wax until this past weekend, when both were booked to perform at Power 105.1's Power Live show at Governors Island on Sunday, August 22.
The concert also featured rap stars Diddy, Fat Joe, Rick Ross and J. Cole, but according to the NY Daily News, Hilson refused to perform after an altercation backstage with Ciara. Reps for Hilson claim that she wasn't even at the concert, and Power Live's Organizers have backed up that claim, contending that Hilson "was unable to perform due to matters out of her own control."
The promoters reiterated, "Hilson, a professional who has always been a pleasure to work with, and her management, gave Power Live fair warning that she would be unable to perform ... Any statements or stories made toward issues backstage with any of our performers are false and without merit."
However, despite Hilson's "fair warning," a set list obtained by the Daily News had the 'The Way I Are' singer penciled in to perform an hour before her alleged nemesis.
Check out 'Basic Instinct (U Got Me)' a new Ciara song in which she allegedly disses Keri Hilson, here. Hilson throws her own jabs at Ciara in the song 'Turnin Me On,' which you can listen to here.
