According to AllHipHop.com, Dre's liquor, which was originally slated to ironically coincide with the release of 'Detox,' will officially hit shelves in October. Cognac company Abecassics will handle production and distribution of Aftermath Cognac, alongside a new 80-proof sparkling vodka beverage.
Dre announced the release of Aftermath Cognac back in 2008. A joint venture between his Aftermath imprint and Interscope Record, the cognac is one of many of Dre's business deals. Aside from his successful Beats by Dre headphones, the Compton native endorsed Hewlett Packard HP Envy notebook computers and previously held a deal with Dr. Pepper.
Of course Dre's most anticipated project is the 'Detox' album which has suffered one push back after another. When Dre took the stage at Eminem's Detroit concert earlier this month, the crowd started an impromptu 'Detox' chant. Dre replied with a simple "I'm comin'." The fact that his Aftermath Cognac has a release date may give his fans restored hope that 'Detox' might just see the light of day soon.
