Rihanna's 'Only Girl' Soars on Charts, Mars No.1 After Arrest

Rihanna's found a rather comfortable spot heating up the Billboard charts this week. The Bajan beatuy's latest single 'Only Girl in the World,' tops the Digital Songs charts with 249,000 first week downloads marking her eight single to debut on Digital Songs, and her sixth to debut at No. 1, the most reached in each category by an artists since 2005, the year the chart launched. The song jumped 72 spots on the Billboard's Hot 100 chart, and currently sits at No. 3 on the singles chart after premiering three weeks ago.

Ironically, the 22-year-old's ex, Chris Brown also saw major chart success with his single 'Deuces' continues to top the R&B/Hip-hop singles chart for the third week in a row. If the two have to battle it out on the charts that'll be an interesting competition, if nothing else. Both are planning on dropping new albums, although Rihanna's is due out this November and Brown has yet to give a release date.

True to form, Ri-Ri's reign doesn't stop there. Eminem's track 'Love the Way You Lie,' which she is featured on, is at No. 2 on the Hot 100 charts, nipping at the heels of singer Bruno Mars who currently holds the No. 1 position. Mars, whose recent arrest may be increasing his popularity, shot to the top of the Hot 100 charts with his debut single 'Just the Way You Are.' As previously reported, the 23-year-old was arrested for drug possession Sunday (September 19) at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas after being confronted by security in the hotel's bathroom. He was later taken into custody for what is believed to have been 2.6 grams of the drug. With his chart topping single, off his upcoming solo effort 'Doowops & Hooligans,' which drops October 5, the Mars becomes the third male artist this year to have a debut single land in the top spot.

dont stress yourself honey. I see you did get the point. dont BUY the CD, DVD, VHS. What ever they have to offer. Dont buy it if you have a problem with what they are doing with their money (your money). instead of telling me about my spelling. You make it a habit to comment on others, maybe because you dont have a life.

Keep purchasing there music and downloading their songs and you help them buy their drugs. Stop talking and take action. Dont by the music or see a movie if drugs are an issue to you. You help support their habit.

It's "their music" not "there music." When you purchase a cd,you "buy" the music not "by" the music. Where did you go to school? California?

This Bruno Mars is a good singer with that song he has. Why would he be messing around with drugs just as he has a major hit record at No. 1? Maybe he got so excited that his song is so high on the charts that he might have overcelebrated a bit too much.

Great that Rihanna's song zoomed from No. 75 to No. 3 even as Katy Perry's popular Teenage Dream song is No. 1 at the moment! She smartly put her single out when most of the summer dance pop hits have cooled down or moved down one or two spots down in the top 10. Even right next to her song with Eminem at No. 2! I'm sure she never expected 2 songs, either herself or as a featured artist, to be back to back like that! This will really boost momentum for her new album. And I love the high energy dance grooves on it!

Why does AOL fool us with the headline? It looked like the singer herself was the one arrested. Rihanna was never arrested, why do they do this? Very misleading and deceiving.

If they only put factual, unequivocal headlines/links to the articles, then 90% of the viewership wouldn't read them. These aren't really news stories; they are simply blogs, which have no journalistic standards. At all.
