"I'm really trying to make Christmas, but we'll see," Dre told RapUp.com during the Beats By Dre Fall presentation in which he presented his new Beatbox Digital Sound System in New York City on Wednesday (Sept. 29). "Something will definitely be out. I'm actually working on it every day I just have to make sure I don't accomplish this word: anticippointment," he confessed.
Since dropping 'The Chronic 2001' almost a decade ago, Dre has been building the public's anticipation for 'Detox,' hinting at one release date after another. Several pushbacks have left fans disenchanted with the idea of the album, even Dre's labelhead, Interscope Records President Jimmy Iovine doubts the December release. "I feel that if it comes down to it, Dre will move Christmas," he said. "We support him 1000 percent."
During the event Dre played a few songs off the album to a few lucky fans. This action, mixed with the fact that a couple of possible 'Detox' tracks have leaked to the Internet this year provides added hope that the album is not just an urban legend.
