Fans of the Minnesota rapper, who died at age 28 on October 16, will be able to pay their respects at a public wake on Thursday, October 29, from 7:30 to 10PM at the Crowne Plaza St. Paul-Riverfront Hotel in downtown St. Paul.
Additionally, Eyedea's former label, Rhymesayers, has announced that it will also be throwing an event in his honor on November 9, and has broadcast a memorial radio show over the weekend on 90.3 FM in Minneapolis and 106.7 FM in St. Paul.
"My friend, my brother. I do not know who I would be without your influence in my life," Rhymesayers founder and fellow rapper Slug of Atmosphere said. "You challenged me without tearing me down. You pushed and encouraged me to be a better person. You had my back even when I didn't have my own back. Your words, thoughts, and ideas impacted me in ways that I probably haven't fully realized yet. You made me laugh and cry. You made me look and question. Thank you for everything."
While the MC's death still remains a mystery, Eyedea's mother recently stated that she believes he likely died in his sleep. Those wishing to donate Eyedea's family can do so here.
