TMZ has learned that there are many "legal issues over probable cause" in the case. It is believed that T.I. was pulled out of his car before being asked for his vehicle's registration. While the cops smelled marijuana, no weed was recovered from T.I.'s Maybach. T.I. was later booked for ecstasy possession, after cops found four pills on him. The D.A. alleges that the case is being thrown out in L.A. because of the small amount of drugs found on the rapper.
"The Los Angeles District Attorney's Office's decision to reject TI's case was the right thing to do under the circumstances," T.I.'s lawyer, Steve Sadow, told the Washington Post. He further praised the D.A.'s office for "exercising its discretion to reject prosecution in light of the legal and factual issues involved." Meanwhile, an Atlanta judge already has T.I. heading back to the slammer this week, because the arrest was in direct violation with his federal probation from a previous gun charge.
