After deliberating, the two agreed that it was in his best interest to cancel the interview. On Tuesday, Kanye suddenly changed his mind, opting to go through with the now-infamous interview with host Matt Lauer, requesting at the very last minute that Arons meet him at NBC's Rockefeller Center studio to prep him for the show.
"West shut himself in a dressing room with Susie, and could be heard rehearsing possible questions and answers. But the interview began, and it was as though he had crammed for a test and then his mind went blank," a source told the New York Post.
Frustrated, Kanye took a break from taping and "huddled again with the media trainer because he still hadn't found a way to express himself," the source claims. Unfortunately, West was never able to get comfortable with Lauer, and became agitated by the show's use of b-roll footage while he was speaking, which is common practice.
After his disastrous appearance on 'Today,' Kanye announced that he would be canceling his follow-up performance on the show, and Arons reportedly stepped down her position as his media coach. Arons has yet to formally comment on the situation.
Kanye's highly-anticipated 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy' hits stores November 22.
