DMX to Spend Year in Prison After Probation Is Revoked

DMX will spend his birthday behind bars, as court officials in Arizona have plans to sentence him to one year in prison. The Maricopa County Superior Court ruled against the rapper Thursday (Dec. 16), revoking his probation and sending him back to the slammer for an extended period.

X, born Earl Simmons, was arrested for possession of Oxycontin last month and later failed to submit to drug testing. He was also believed to be under the influence of cocaine, and drove on a suspended license. The troubled rapper admitted to being kicked out of a rehabilitation program after drinking alcohol during a show in Scottsdale. "I shouldn't have done it," X said. "I wasn't done with the program. They let me out to do the show. I should have protected myself better."

As previously reported, X was denied bond and has been sitting in jail since his arrest in November. Although he previously vowed never to return to Arizona, the former Ruff Ryder just can't seem to stay out of trouble in the state.

On the music front, X was attempting to rejuvenate his fledgling rap career, but drug addiction and constant arrests appear to have derailed his comeback. He turns 40 on Dec. 18.

Rappers were just described as all being a POS. I say why are you putting down the poor POS. I have more respect for the POS than I do any rapper. They are in a class all by themselves, my man. They are so low in the IQ department that their heads actually contain a sealed vacuum chamber. They are so blinded by their own selves that they can't see what's going on around them. How they are spreading racial hatred and bringing disrespect to whatever race they belong to. The only gang they belong in is a chain gang. Rap needs to be wiped from the face of this Earth. I read the lyrics to several rap songs because most of them don't know how to enunciate English good enough to be understood except by those who also warp the American tongue. Let me tell you, I was so disgusted by these "so called" songs that I could not believe those words came out of those human being's mouths. Therefore, I concluded that rappers, in my opinion, are nothing more than low grade animals, and need to be neutered or spayed and kept on the end of a chain so they don't harm any more impressionable children. Anyone that promotes drug use, prostitution of children, driveby shooting, demeaning of women, robbery, and everything else that is tied to illegal gang activities, needs to have their tongues ripped out. Maybe then they'll stop and listen to how their spewing of offal is really affecting our youth. Thanks for the rave. Be seeing you.

All these years Black people complained about " the WHITE man " keeping them down, and for the past ten years many of them have been GIVEN the chance of a lifetime, money, fame, and more than equality, and this is the result, many have blown it.Its a shame for all the hard working Americans who will never have that opportunity to be rich for doing what they do.

He is where he belongs. He broke the law and is paying like anybody else would. I lived in Scottsdale and loved every minute.
They do not put up with crime. You will go to jail if they catch you. Very strict state. If you can't abide by the law don't vacation there.
He should have gone to Singapore. They have a way of handling these type trouble child antics.

If he was a white celebrity he would get probation or they would let him go altogether.

I keep praying that America's youth comes out of this long obsession with common street thugs, most of whom have absolutely no vocal talent, steal snippets of songs written by others and inevitably end up serving time in prison. There are far better things to spend your money on than enriching and enabling criminals.

Funny thing how this always works ... when a white celebrity gets into trouble, gets sentenced to do jailtime, they always get off .. a black man? he will do the jailtime ... I am a white woman ... but you don't have to be black to see this.

He was on probation, pinhead, which means he didn't get sentenced to jail time. He then stupidly broke the same laws again, and was dumb enough to get caught.
