"i'm making an official announcement that i am taking a break from music," she tweeted. "i'm trying to figure out who i am... w/out a mike, paper or pen. i promised myself when it wasn't fun anymore i wouldn't do it. and here i am. [sic]"
The 23-year-old Philadelphia native revealed that she wasn't putting down the microphone forever, but at this time, she's "got some things to figure out." Jazmine also thanked her loyal supporters for their endless dedication and inspiration.
"i love u all and appreciate u soooooo much," Sullivan shared. "u have no idea how much u've inspired me and fed my ego. but the truth is that i have to believe in me whether you all do or not. and thats what i'm lookin for. that belief in myself. me. I. i love us. thanks for being here for me and riding with me on this journey. let us continue."
The J Records signee's tweets later disappeared from the social networking site. No official statement from her record label regarding the matter has been released.
In October, Jazmine spoke with The BoomBox about the success of her blossoming music career. Besides singing for the masses, the performer is also transitioning to movies, with an upcoming role in the George Lucas film, 'Red Tails,' co-starring Ne-Yo. Yet, belting out soulful tunes is what she admitted truly makes her happy, which doesn't seem to be the case in light of her recent announcement.
"I love what I do," she told The BoomBox. "I love making music, I love singing, I love performing. I don't like to just do a bunch of things just because I can. I'd like to be good at acting but music is my passion."
