Eminem Among Performers at 2011 Grammy Awards

Following the release of Eminem's official Grammys commercial last week, it has been confirmed that the chart-topping rapper is set to perform at the 53rd annual awards show on Feb. 13.

At last year's Grammy Awards, Eminem shared the stage with Drake and Lil Wayne to deliver his verse on 'Forever' but this year Slim Shady will perform music from his comeback album 'Recovery,' which pulled in the highest record sales of 2010. No details have been revealed about the song selection for the upcoming show. At the MTV VMAs in September, Em took the stage with Rihanna to perform their hit single 'Love the Way You Lie.'

Currently, Eminem leads the pack of Grammy nominations, with nods in ten categories including Album of the Year for 'Recovery,' Best Rap Solo Performance for 'Not Afraid' and Best Rap Song, Song and Record of the Year for 'Love the Way You Lie.' The Detroit emcee has collected 11 Grammy awards in the span of his career. In addition to Eminem, Cee Lo Green, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Arcade Fire, and country singer Miranda Lambert are also scheduled to perform.

The 53rd annual Grammy Awards will air live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, on Feb. 13.

I haven't watched the Grammy Awards since someone in their infinite wisdom decided for everyone else, that Punk, Rap and Hip Hop is considered music, even though most of us don't agree. But I heard that some of my favorites were to appear, like Barbra Streisand, Mick Jagger, Bob Dylan, Katy Perry, Usher, Miranda Lambert and Lady Antebellum. However the rest of the show was terrible, starting with Christina Aguilera attempting to redeem herself from last week's Super Bowl flub, but still almost fell off stage and she didn't sound that great to me, in fact it was painful. And speaking of painful, listening to Eminem's rapping made me think of rapping my hand with a pipe wrench or jamming a pencil into my ear.... That punk needs to go into the military to grow up, the Marines will make a man out of him, trust me. "Hey Soul Sister?"....the live version just won, cute song, easy to listen to, no like Eminem. Rihanna on the other hand was supposed to be down with the flu, but she sounds pretty darn good and would sound even better with a better song writer. Lady Gaga performing "Born This Way," emerging from the cocoon or egg in which she arrived to the Grammys. Ah... I get it... she's being born! I think she should have stayed in that pod.

Barbra Streisand has seen better days, but still sounds great and I hope Mick Jagger never retires, such energy, such stage presence, but speaking of retirement, I'm afraid it's time for Bob Dylan to call it quits, although you could at least understand him, unlike Eminem. Usher is such a gentleman and fun to watch, that was all good, Katy Perry is a beautiful young lady, but her song did nothing for me, unlike Eminem who made me want to toss or harm myself. I loved Lady Antebellum and especially Lady A's retro 60's haircut, cute, I liked it and their sound a lot, and they did win a grammy for it...yeah!
