During his visit to the courtroom for a progress report, Brown's lawyer, Mark Geragos asked the judge to lift the existing order against his client, after informing her that the singer officially completed 52 weeks of court-ordered domestic violence counseling. To date, Brown has completed 581 hours of community labor in addition to the domestic violence counseling. He is currently on probation.
"It makes it difficult at award shows and such," said Geragos of the order in place.
Judge Schnegg would not immediately grant the crooner's request but suggested a modification with the approval of Rihanna's attorney, David Etra.
Though there's no word on whether the 'F.A.M.E.' creator will attend the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards on Feb. 13, he is nominated in three categories: Best R&B Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals, Best Contemporary R&B Album and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration.
